Police are searching for the driver of a car which demolished a garden wall in North Lanarkshire.

The Vauxhall Vectra left Old Gartloch Road in Gartcosh and went through a field before crashing into a garden belonging to a retired couple.

The driver was male and wore a hooded top.

George Forsyth, whose garden wall and fence were damaged, said he heard a loud bang just after 9am yesterday (Wednesday, December 2).

He added it was lucky the incident was not worse.

The road was closed in the aftermath of the crash but has since re-opened.
