A van, BMW and cash were all stolen by thieves during a spate of break-ins in the same street in Muirhead.

The three houses were all targeted in Belhaven Park between July 5 and 8.

The first incident took place overnight on Friday and a van, green BMW and three-figure sum of cash were stolen.

A second property was targeted on Monday at around 4.30am. The householder saw his patio door was open and a man was standing outside his kitchen window. He is described as being aged 15-19, wearing a blue tracksuit with a hood.

He was in the company of two other men. They were described as being aged 15-19 and wearing black tracksuits with hoods.

The third incident was observed as police responded to the earlier incident. They saw a set of ladders leading to an upstairs window and, on making inquiries with the householder, were able to establish that the ladders did not belong to them.

Anyone with information on the incidents can contact Cumbernauld Police on 01236 503 900.
