A CAR showroom has come under attack from fire-raising thugs.

Six cars were damaged during the blaze at the Toyota branch of Arnold Clark in Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, on Sunday night.

One car was set alight before the fire spread, affecting the other five vehicles.

The alarm was raised after the showroom’s security guard noticed two men acting suspiciously in the forecourt.

Two men aged approximately 17-years-old and around 5ft 4ins-5ft 5ins tall, wearing black jackets, were seen running away from the scene.

A spokesperson for Arnold Clark said: “We believe the fire at our Toyota dealership in Bishopbriggs was an act of vandalism.

“Our CCTV footage is currently being examined and we are working closely with the police to help with their investigations.”

Detective Sergeant Stevie Stewart said: “We are investigating this wilful fire-raising and will be checking CCTV cameras in the area for any possible sighting of the two individuals.

“Anyone with information about the incident should contact myself at Kirkintilloch CID on 0141 532 4400 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
