Police probe attack on man in barber’s shop

Detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries after a man was seriously assaulted in a barber’s shop.

The 29-year-old suffered lacerations to his head after he was attacked by two men who approached him while he was inside Gary’s Barber Shop in Springburn Way, Springburn.

After the assault which happened around 4.15pm on Thursday, the two men fled in a car.

The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for his injuries.

Officers are reviewing CCTV images and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Michael McCullagh said: “The motive for this attack remains unknown and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, who may have seen the two men fleeing the shop to contact us.

“We are still reviewing CCTV images in the hope that further information can be gleaned about this attack but I would urge people to please get in touch with us.

“What you saw or noticed may seem insignificant to you but it could help us piece together elements of this investigation and lead us to tracing those responsible for this crime.”
