Police probe man’s death after disturbance in Bishopbriggs

Police are probing the death of a 28-year-old man following a disturbance in Bishopbriggs last night.

Officers were called out to Springfield Avenue near to Auchinairn Road around 10.35pm.

The man, who police said suffered “serious injuries”, was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and died shortly afterwards.

A police spokesperson said today: “We are treating the death as suspicious and our inquiries are continuing.

“A post mortem is being carried out and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”

At this stage, the identity of the dead man is not being revealed by police.
