Clydesdale MSP Aileen Campbell has urgents parents who have not yet done so to apply for the new Scottish Child Payment.

The Scottish Government benefit will give eligible families and carers £40 every four weeks for each child under six.

The payment was announced by Ms Campbell in her role as Communities Secretary as a key plank in the effort to tackle child poverty.

Ms Campbell said: “This will be a welcome boost for families across Clydesdale and I would urge anyone who hasn’t applied to do so now.

“The Scottish Child Payment has been described as ‘game-changing’ as it will make a difference to the lives of thousands of children across Scotland.
