A TALENTED pupil is helping to warn children of the dangers of playing on building sites.

Grant Tedeshi, a P6 pupil at Lenzie Moss Primary, won a poster competition organised by housing developers UBC.

His winning design - chosen from more than 100 entries - will now be displayed on building sites across Scotland.

The developers are currently constructing 15 council flats in Oak Drive, in Lenzie.

Councillor Stewart MacDonald, vice-convener of housing and community services at East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “Congratulations to Grant whose poster is a fantastic design, very colourful and informative. I am sure that by displaying it at the site it will help reinforce the safety message to children in the area.”

A spokesperson for the UBC Group said: “The poster competition was a fun way of reinforcing some serious messages about the dangers of construction sites. We very much appreciate the effort the children put into their posters.

“Grant’s picked up all of the key messages about the dangers of sites in a bright, positive and understandable way, and is now displayed not only on the Oak Drive site but on all of our construction sites in the central belt.”
