STUDENTS will be able to let go of exam stress thanks to a scheme that allows them free use of North Lanarkshire Leisure centres during study leave.

Hard-working pupils are being urged to take advantage of the NLL and North Lanarkshire Council scheme which offers free, all-inclusive health and fitness memberships to pupils in fifth and sixth year on study leave over the month of May.

The study leave membership allows unlimited use of gyms including inductions, swimming pools, health suites and fitness classes.

Free membership is available at 11 leisure facilities including the Iain Nicolson Centre, in Chryston, and Kilsyth Pool.

Blane Dodds, chief executive of North Lanarkshire Leisure, said: “We are confident that pupils will benefit hugely from this scheme, both in terms of their physical fitness and from the added mental edge that can come from exercise during their all important study period.”
