WORK is underway to repair damage caused by the recent severe weather and to ensure council services continue to be delivered.

East Dunbartonshire roads crews are continuing to respond to incidents requiring the removal of fallen trees, branches and debris from the area’s roads.

This work is being carried out on a priority basis with all available resources deployed.

Three roads remain closed: Forth Road and Ralston Road in Bearsden (due to a fallen tree), Campsie is closed near the Golf Course due to flooding.

Donaldson Place in Kirkintilloch has now reopened.

The refuse service was suspended at 10am on Tuesday, but resumed on Wednesday morning. Crews will work until they clear the backlog, into the weekend if necessary.

If your bin is due to be emptied you are asked to put it out as normal and the council will get to you. If your bin or box has been blown away call 0300 123 4510 for replacements.

At present there is no electricity supply to Mugdock Country Park. As a result, all facilities will be closed although toilet provision has been made available within a single service unit within the courtyard.

There has been significant tree damage to path networks and whilst work is continuing to clear paths and tracks it is recommended that all visitors take care when using paths.
