A TEENAGER had a miraculous escape after surviving a 40ft fall in the Campsie Hills.

The 14-year-old was airlifted to safety from near the Crow Road car park, north of Lennoxtown, on Wednesday afternoon by a Ministry of Defence Sea King Helicopter.

There was more drama on Thursday evening when a 21-year-old man tumbled 25ft down a hill hear the same car park.

Again a Sea King helicopter, this time supplied by RAF Kinloss, came to the rescue after firemen located the stricken man using glowsticks.

Police have warned residents of the dangers of walking in the Campsie Fells.
