Residents urged to help themselves to a variety of free herbs

Lenzie Community Council has planted a selection of herbs, donated by East Dunbartonshire Council, in the bottom level of the planter outside Lenzie Station.

These are free for the local community and we would like to invite people to help themselves.

As well as the usual parsley (flat leaf and regular), thyme, sage and rosemary, there is also marjoram, mint and a couple of curry plants. A spokesperson said: “We also planted some nasturtium seeds as the flowers are edible and look lovely in salads but these are not quite ready yet.

“As for the rest of the herbs, they are ready now and will benefit from being picked so the community council urges everyone to help themselves and make their meals even more tasty.”
