A RETAIL park has risen ‘from the dead’ to become one of the top locations for shoppers in the west of Scotland.
Thousands of shoppers are now flocking to Strathkelvin Retail Park every week.
And the good news for local residents is that more top businesses are moving to the park on the outskirts of Bishopbriggs.
Marks & Spencer, Boots and Matalan are just some of the big name stores that have opened branches in the retail park over recent months to add to the list of businesses already there.
Restaurant chain Frankie and Benny’s has just opened their latest diner at the park.
And the Herald can exclusively reveal that high street fashion store Next is set to open a new store in the retail park in December.
Councillor Billy Hendry, convener of East Dunbartonshire Council’s development and infrastructure committee, described the retail park’s new found success as a massive boost for the area.
He told the Herald: “At a time when we are in the middle of a recession, we have one of the most thriving retail parks in the United Kingdom.”
