NOSTALGIC residents at Campsie View Care Home rolled back the years recently as they toasted the Royals and raised funds.

A special party was held to mark Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton.

Kirkintilloch Pipe Band played all around the home to the delight of residents.

There were stalls with home-baking, donated soaps from the local soap factory, raffle prizes, a tombola and face painting for visiting children.

Residents, families and staff sat together and enjoyed a buffet lunch with tea or juice.

Jack High entertained residents and visitors in the afternoon, with many dancing to his wonderful music.

A spokesperson said: “It was a brilliant afternoon. Thank-you to everyone for their kind and generous donations – £430 was made on the day and will go to our residents’ funds.

“A big thank-you to all our local businesses who donated gifts for the raffle and cheques for our residents funds.”
