A KIRKINTILLOCH road will be closed until next weekend for street lighting to be upgraded.

The work to improve road safety in Campsie Road started last Monday and will be complete by Sunday, September 25.

The section of road between the Royal Mail delivery office and access to Strathkelvin House will be closed from 8am to 8pm each day.

David Devine, head of roads and neighbourhood services, said: “I would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and would like to thank the public for bearing with us.

“An alternative route has been put in place.”

Access to the closed section of road will be available for emergency service vehicles, staff involved in the works and vehicles needing access to properties adjacent to the closed section.
