A brave teenager who battled cancer has got his confidence back thanks to hair salon owner and a revolutionary hair replacement treatment.

Brave Jordan Laing (14) lost his blond locks after intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy to treat a brain tumour, which spread to his spine.

Thankfully, Jordan is now in remission, but he was left devastated when he was told it was unlikely his hair would grow back.

However, thanks to a specialist non-surgical hair replacement system called Total Cover Plus, Jordan has been given a full head of real hair.

He had to travel to London a couple of times for the treatment, but was recently the first cancer patient to receive it in Scotland, thanks to Harley Jo Hair in Kirkintilloch and the charity, Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia (TCCL).

The salon owner Shirley Johns was asked to be the agent in Scotland for Total Cover Plus.

Shirley said: “Jordan is a lovely wee boy and he has been through so much. He was delighted with his hair. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to give someone their life back. He gave me a big hug and I felt as if I’d won the lottery.

“I want to raise awareness that this treatment is available. I’m helping a couple of kids just now with alopecia.”
