SECRETARY of State for Scotland Alistair Carmichael visited Douglas St Bride’s Centre to see just how much the facility had benefited from lottery funding.

The Liberal Democrat MP for Orkney and Shetland met volunteers and saw extensive refurbishment work which resulted in a community hall, cafe, gym and office space for local groups including Citizens Advice.

During the event, Mr Carmichael said: “It was great to visit the St Bride’s Centre.”
