Roads and neighbourhood services
Gritting activity has been ongoing as appropriate in response to weather conditions.
Refuse and recycling
The refuse service will today concentrate on catching up on any household waste not picked up from earlier in the week. They will work into the weekend if necessary to catch up on any routes not caught today.
By the end of the weekend, weather permitting, it is intended that all routes from the previous week will be caught up and will return to normal by Monday.
If your refuse and recycling was due to be collected on Wednesday or yesterday (Thursday) but was not collected due to the weather conditions, leave your bins and boxes out this morning - these will be uplifted by the end of the weekend at the latest.
If your normal collection day is today (Friday), put your bins and boxes out as you would normally do so and they will be uplifted no later than the end of the weekend.
Special uplifts have been affected by the prevailing conditions and the need to concentrate teams on the core refuse service. Every effort will be made to catch up by the end of next week, weather permitting.
A full Homecare team will be out across the council area today, linked to the Hourcare 24 service teams.
The overnight service has been in place throughout last night with a Homecare organiser based at the Triangle in Bishopbriggs and two mobile teams of homecarers out and about in Strathkelvin and Bearsden and Milngavie.
All teams have been linked directly to our Emergency Response Centre for Hourcare 24.
Are expected to resume as normal today and will focus on any necessary clean up work.
Plans are currently being put in place to re-arrange all works which were scheduled to be carried out yesterday but which were cancelled due to the severe weather conditions earlier. It is anticipated that arrangements will be made to catch up on cancelled work within the next week.
