SLIMMING World members from Sally Stevens’ groups in Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs and Muirhead have donated the weighty sum of £705 to Marie Curie at Huntershill.

The clubs – known as the slimming group with the big heart – raised the money by donating the change from their weekly fee.

Slimming World consultant Sally said: “I would like to say a big thank-you to all my lovely members on behalf of Marie Curie, Huntershill, for being so generous.

“It just shows you how the loose change they put into our tin every week mounts up.”

Last Thursday, Slimming World started their 12-week ‘Let’s beat it campaign’ to tackle obesity.

Members from the Kirkintilloch morning group are really looking forward to the challenge of losing weight during the campaign.

As an incentive to do well, Slimming World are giving away five prizes of £500 to the groups with the best average weight loss.

The morning group in Kirkintilloch has nominated Marie Curie and if they prove to be a winner, they will donate the money to their chosen charity.
