A CHURCH music group will be alive with The Sound of Music on its 10th anniversary show.

St David’s Memorial Park Church in Kirkintilloch have been wanting to perform the Rogers and Hammerstein classic for years - and have finally got their wish after the rights were released to an amateur group for the first time ever.

Performers in the all-age cast, which is being produced by Bill McCall with Jill Taylor as musical director, include a former member of the Scottish National Orchestra, ex-students of the RSAMD, and several members from Lenzie Union Church.

The shows are being held in Lenzie Academy from Wednesday, September 14 to Saturday, September 17 and tickets can be obtained from The Old Sweetie Shop in the Cowgate, from the St. David’s Memorial Park Church Office from 12 – 3pm on weekdays or from any members of the cast.

Book early to avoid disappointment.
