Almost 20 volunteers got together recently to continue the remarkable transformation of a disused village train station.
The platform on the Kirkintilloch side of Milton of Campsie station has already been turned from an eyesore into a community asset and work is now underway on the other platform.
A project spokesperson said: “People worked really hard and the old station platforms on the Lennoxtown side look incredible when the dirt and moss is removed.
“We have big plans to make the Lennoxtown side as attractive as the Kirkintilloch side.
“It’s truly unbelievable that we’ve made such incredible progress without spending a penny, the enthusiasm the local people of Milton of Campsie and beyond have for what we’re achieving is truly magnificent.
“Thanks to East Dunbartonshire Council for providing a skip, Steve and Mark Lynch, Beth Glennie, Terry Foray, Eleanor, Angela, Ellen, Ellie, Mhari, Shona, Stewart, Abi Reid, her pal Abi, Adam and all the new volunteers.”
The next improvement day is on Saturday, November 7, from 10am-1pm.
