A Bishopbriggs firm has put up a £500 reward for information after robbers targeted a company van in the early hours of the morning.

The thieves made off with £10,000 worth of power tools and equipment from the back of the red transit van at SC
Designs in Crow Road, Huntershill Village around 2.30am today, June 23.

Police are looking at CCTV images and are appealing to anyone who saw a suspicious-looking vehicle in the vicinity at the time.

The firm’s owner Scott Milne described the theft as “a terrible blow” to the company.

He added: “It’s just awful. There were about three or four thieves as far as we could make out.

“ They smashed a window in the van, burst open the doors and made off with the tools. The van has been left in a bit of a state.

“The tools are vital to the company and very expensive, that’s why we are putting up the reward to anyone who can help us to catch these people.”

Customers expressed their shock on the firm’s Facebook page, with one labelling the thieves as “scumbags.”

Claire Andrew said: “This is shocking. Hope you get the stuff back and this thug gets caught.”

Bob Keith added: “Shocked to hear about this, Scott. I know how hard you guys work and it’s the last thing you deserve. Hope to hear some
good news surrounding this sometime soon.”

Liz McMillan said: “Got to be someone that knows tools are kept in van overnight!! Hope they’re caught.”

A police spokeswoman at Kirkintilloch said inquiries were continuing. Anyone with info should call them on 101.
