Three people were injured in a two-car smash at Bishopbriggs yesterday morning.

A Renault car and a Range Rover were in collision on Brackenbrae Road at its junction with Kenmure Avenue around 10am.

The 43-year-old driver of the Range Rover and his 77-year-old passenger were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and released later that day.

The 59-year-old driver of the Renault, who has been reported to the fiscal in connection with alleged road traffic offences, was also taken to the Royal where he received treatment for injuries. It is not known how badly he was injured.

Police and an ambulance crew had been attending another minor incident nearby involving a cyclist when the accident occurred, and were on the scene within seconds.

The road was closed for a short time while the vehicles were removed from the scene.
