Thugs assault taxi driver after demanding cash in North Glasgow

YOBS attacked a taxi driver after asking him if he had any money.

The suspects were picked up by the 36-year-old taxi driver in Wellfield Road, Springburn.

During the journey they asked the driver if he had any money, then grabbed him by the jacket and punched him on the face.

The suspects then made off.

One is described as being aged around 17 to 18 and was wearing a black jacket. The other was aged around 19 to 20, about 5ft 8ins and was wearing a light blue jumper.

The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, April 13, between 12.30am and 1am. Anyone with information is asked to contact Baird Street CID on 0141 532 4400.

* A LADIES’ mountain bike worth £300 was stolen from a block of flats.

The dark grey bike was taken from the close of 28 Springburn Way sometime between 5pm on Friday, April 12, and 1pm the following day.

* A GARDEN shed window was smashed at a house in Springburn.

The property in Carron Street was targeted on Sunday, April 14, between noon and 3pm. Anyone with any information should call police on 532 4400.
