Train services between Glasgow and Edinburgh were disrupted yesterday (Sunday, September 20) after a woman was killed on the track between Polmadie and Edinburgh.
An empty Virgin Trains carriage was involved in the accident, which happened at around 9.25am, near Carluke Train Station.
Replacement bus services were put on for passengers affected by delays.
Police Scotland and British Transport Police are investigating the incident, but there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances.
A ScotRail spokesman said: “We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by this sad incident.”
