Time is running out if you are hoping to start a new further education course in Kirkintilloch – with a last-chance event taking place tomorrow (Friday).

Cumbernauld College is hosting a ‘clearing event’ at its Kirkintilloch campus – giving prospective students the chance to find out what courses are still available for the 2013/2014 session.

A number of programmes are already full, but there are still places available on selected courses – including qualifications in beauty, music, computing and television.

The college website is being updated daily with course information. The ‘Last Chance Event’ at Southbank Road, Kirkintilloch, provides an opportunity for people to stop by, speak to lecturers and find out more information.

Heather Urquhart, acting principal of Cumbernauld College, said: “We are still a couple of weeks away from the start of the new academic year and it’s great that so many of our courses are already full.

“However, there are still a number of spaces left which we hope to fill during our Last Chance Events.

“These events provide a great opportunity for those thinking about enrolling to come in and get a feel for the college.”

A Last Chance Event will take place in the Kirkintilloch campus on Friday (August 9) between noon and 2pm. Visit www.cumbernauld.ac.uk or call 01236 731811 for more info.
