River City stars had a ball with Deafblind Scotland staff, service users and supporters to help raise over £19,000 for a new centre.
The Lenzie-based charity’s Field of Dreams Gala Ball was a huge success with more than 200 guests attending the glitzy event in Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel.
Many cast members from River City attended the event.
Deafblind Scotland want to build a new £1.3million learning and development centre built in Lenzie.
Event organiser, Drena O’Malley, said: “This year’s Field of Dreams Gala Ball was a wonderful success and we are delighted to have raised over £19,000.
“The learning and development centre will be a vital facility for the deafblind community with their accessibility needs at the forefront of its design.”
Meanwhile, Deafblind Scotland is offering thrill seekers and marathon runners the chance to take part in the Forth Rail Bridge Abseil on Sunday, June 8, and the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday, May 25.
The unique 160 foot abseil down one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks offers the thrill of a lifetime while runners have an opportunity to enter the capital’s marathon after standard entry places are now closed.
