Police are hunting vandals who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage
to a number of cars parked
in Lennoxtown.

The vandals slashed tyres, spray-painted and scratched the vehicles parked in Main Street and Glazert Drive in
the early hours of Friday,
May 29.

The owner of a BMW X5 parked outside a house in Main Street woke up to find his car damaged to the tune of around £5,000.

Repairs to a Vauxhall Astra parked in Glazert Drive are
expected to cost more than £2,400.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward to help catch the culprits.

Constable Alistair Muir at Kirkintilloch police office condemned the act of “mindless vandalism.”

He said: “The owners of the cars woke up on Friday morning to find their vehicles
extensively damaged.

He added: “There does not appear to be a motive for the
vandalism.

“However, we are following a definite line of inquiry and are appealing to witnesses
to come forward to help
catch the culprits.”

Anyone who was in the
vicinity of Main Street or Glazert Drive overnight
last Thursday or have any
information are asked to contact Kirkintilloch police
office by dialling 101 or Crimestoppers Scotland on 0800
555 111.
