MINDLESS vandals have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to a sensory garden for adults with complex support needs.

They targeted Kelvinbank Resource Centre, in Kirkintilloch. The garden has been wrecked, with chairs and benches thrown into the pond, the raised flowerbeds have been partly destroyed and the greenhouse has had most of its windows smashed.

The sensory garden is especially beneficial for adults with complex support needs and includes raised flower beds for wheelchair access and plants which are particularly chosen for their smell and touch.

Police are investigating the incident, which took place sometime between Friday, August 17, and Monday, August 20.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirkintilloch Police Office on 0141 532 4400.
