A MUCH-loved public wall has won a £60k windfall – thanks to local voters.

Campsie Memorial Hall Trust will be awarded £59,240 for their ‘Sound and Vision’ project after winning a telephone vote in the Jubilee People’s Millions.

The result was announced on STV’s evening news bulletin after voting lines closed on Thursday.

It means that the trust will be able to buy new equipment to attract more events to the Lennoxtown facility.

Trust chairperson Tommy Starrs said he was “delighted” and thanked Herald readers for voting.
