A KIND-hearted mum is raffling off her pride and joy to help make her daughter’s dreams come true.

Talented Robyn Richford (18), from Kirkintilloch, wants to go to drama school in London and has been accepted into three of the most prestigious courses available – at the world-famous Italia Conti School, London Studio Centre and the Performers College.

But the former Lenzie Academy pupil missed out on funding, leaving her family desperate to raise the £15,000 she needs to take the first step to stardom in September.

Her parents, Michael and Marena, came up with the idea of raffling-off their red Mazda RX8 sports car and are now selling tickets for £5.

Marena said: “She’s worked hard at school to follow her dreams so we’re just keeping up our end of the bargain.

“We were thinking of things of value we could use to help and the car was the obvious one.”

Robyn, who was recently accepted into the Glasgow Rockettes Pro-Dance Team, added: “I was getting quite desperate and was overwhelmed when they told me about the idea when I came home from dance training.

“I’d like to thank all the people and businesses who have supported me so far.”

Tickets for the raffle, which will be drawn at a fundraising night on August 20 at the Knights of Saint Columba in Moodiesburn, are available from several shops in Kirkintilloch including Nuthouse barbers and Dance Apparel in the Kirkie Arcade.

They are also available at www.richford-photography.com where donations can also be made.
