A METAL ‘spike’ causing concern near to a children’s park has been removed.
A concerned resident contacted the Herald about a small metal stump in Woodhead Park, in Kirkintilloch.
He said: “It must have been a pole at one time and it’s perhaps broken off.
“A child or adult could trip over it or fall onto it.”
Lynn Thrower, roads and neighbourhood operations manager, said: “The council was made aware of this.
“After inspection the metal stump, which appears to be an old fence post, was sprayed with fluorescent orange paint to ensure that the hazard was highly visible. It was scheduled to be removed.”
