Concerns that a polling station is set to be closed during the Scottish Parliamentary elections have been quashed by North Lanarkshire Council.
Residents in Moodiesburn contacted the Herald after rumours began circulating that voters would only be able to use the polling station at St Michael’s Primary during Thursday’s election because Glenmanor Primary’s would be closed.
However, North Lanarkshire Council has told the Herald the polling station will be open.
A spokesperson for the council said: “We can confirm that Glenmanor Primary school in Glenmanor Avenue in Moodiesburn is being used as a polling place in the Coatbridge and Chryston constituency in Thursday’s Scottish Parliamentary election.”
