35 YEAR WAIT OVER
Clydesdale cricket club won the league for the first time in 35 years this week.
The PSL Team Sports Clydesdale side comfortably defeated Dumfries, after off-spinner Majid Haq took eight of the 10 opposition wickets. The Titwood club thus completed its 18-week campaign in the West Premier League having suffered only one defeat.
And on hand to present the Borland trophy was – fittingly – 1980’s winning captain captain John Baxter, pictured with current captain Majid Haq.
This Saturday, the team hopes to finish its season as Scottish champions, if they win the play-off against East Premier champions Grange.
