TIPPED as the most successful junior fighter to ever come out of Scotland, and a possible future world champion, a 16-year-old Muay Thai kickboxer is looking to make it a perfect ten in professional fights.

Fighting professionally since the age of 14, Jordan Calder, a Springburn Academy pupil from Milton, has won nine fights, four of them knock-outs, and has six title belts, including Scottish Champion and ITKBA British Junior titleholder.

Now he has been placed on the card for the MSA Muay Thai Premier League fight at the Reebok Hotel, Bolton on Saturday, November 7 involving the best Muay Thai fighters in the world and broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Dad, and coach, Brian said: "I'm very proud, he works very hard.
"He trains for four hours, six days a week and his fight at the Reebok is for an adult British title.

"Jordan's on a card that features the world's best fighters. Obviously you could say I'm biased because I'm his dad but Jordan's considered one of the top prospects in the UK, and he's only 16."

Jordan, who often enters the ring in a pair of vivid pink shorts adorned with a trademark cobra print, said: "I'm training really hard and I'm determined to bring the belt back home with me. I also know this fight gives me bigger opportunities.

"I have to make sacrifices, like not going out and stuff, but my girlfriend Emma is very supportive. She's a dancer who trains four times a week so we both know what it's like."

Jordan has struck up a family friendship with World Champion British fighters Liam Harrison and Andy Howson, and spent last summer in Bangkok.

Brian said: "He spent five weeks in Bangkok, trained at the Jitti gym and was the youngest ever British person to fight at the Lumpini Stadium (the home of Muay Thai) and beat a top-rated Japanese fighter on points.

"Jordan has ambitions to become a full-time fighter, open his own gym and become world champion."
