YOUNG ten pin bowlers from Kirkintilloch were in superb form at a top tournament in Sunderland recently.
The youngsters, from the Pro Bowl Juniors Kirkintilloch club, were successful at the Peewee singles tournament, for bowlers aged 12 and under.

A total of 19 juniors and 25 other parents, bowling instructors and supporters travelled to the prestigious event.

In what was an outstanding day for the club, Craig Waugh won the male under-8s event, with Olivia McTiernan runner-up in the female under-8 category.

The Kirkintilloch club claimed the top two spots in the male under-10 age group, with Christopher O'Kane finishing ahead of Ryan Gourlay.

Rhona McKay was first in the female under-10 category, and Gemma Innes was second in the under-12 competition.

All the winners received a trophy and a new bowling ball.

The club was also celebrating in February when 15-year-old James Guthrie achieved a perfect game of 300 with 12 strikes in a row.
