Black Watch 2
Kilwinning 1
WATCH struggled to win the points in this league game at Station Road on Saturday.

After their good performance against Hillwood, Blackies were a real let down and often had to play second to a very clever visiting side who passed the ball well,
but did not create many chances.

Watch had at least three chances in the opening 15 minutes, a Hamilton header crashed against the crossbar and opportunities fell to Stewart and Finnigan, but failed to be taken.

Kilwinning went ahead in the 44th minute when a cross from Lyndsey on the left was headed past Tait by Blackies full back Reid.

Blackies equalised in the 60th minute when a Fitzsimmons pass sent in Boag clear on the left, the wing backs shot was partially cleared by keeper McGoogan and O'Neill was on the spot to net.

The game had clearly swung in Watch's favour, but there was still a lack of fluency in their play.

It was 2-1 in the 67th minute from a Reid pass.

Fitzsimmons stepped past defender McKay to wallop the ball past the helpless McGoogan.

The nearest Kilwinning came to equalising was when McCann's 25 yard strike was brilliantly saved by Tait.

Chris Stewart had a brilliant run, beating defenders Thompson and Hay to turn the ball across goal, only to see his shot hit the far post.

A Fitzsimmons free kick was brilliantly saved by keeper McGoogan.

Watch, on chances deserved to win, but their outfield play left a lot to be desired.

Watch: D Tait, C Reid, R Campbell, C Gannon, J McCormick, J Gemmill, P Hamilton, M Fitzsimmons, R Finningan, C Stewart, D O'Neill, P Duncanson, M Boag, T Wilcox, K Meggat.
