ROB Roy's star striker Chris Zok has asked to leave the Kirkintilloch club.
Last season's top scorer handed in a transfer request to manager John Richardson on Friday.

The centre-forward, who found the back of the net 31 times in his debut season at Adamslie, is bound to attract attention from other clubs across Scotland.

Richardson told Herald Sport he was surprised by the request but wishes the player ever success in his footballing career.

He said: "It is a bit of a blow but players come and go and that is the nature of the game.

"I imagine there will be plenty of fans upset to hear he wants to leave as anyone who manages over 30 goals in a season is naturally going to be popular.

"We have four other strikers who I have every faith in and who will do a great job for us in the season ahead.

"I wish Chris good luck wherever he goes and hope he does well."

Meanwhile, Richardson said he refused to hit the panic button after Rob Roy lost their first competitive match of the season.

The Rabs boss was confident his team could get back to winning ways after slumping to a 3-1 Sectional League Cup defeat to local rivals Cumbernauld United.

Rob Roy responded in style, beating Dunipace 4-0 on Saturday.

"Against Cumbernauld we had eight new players and against Dunipace we had ten so I didn't expect everything to go smoothly straight away."
