The second division side had no answer to the continual attacks on their defence.

Blackies went ahead in the seventh minute when clever play on the right from Oliver, Finnigan and Culbard saw the latter's cross dropped by keeper Scott for Barclay to net.

Rarely did the home side trouble the Campsie defence, and it was inevitable that there was going to be a high scoring victory for Watch.

Oliver made it 2-0 in the 19th minute. A header from Darroch out of defence saw Alan Harty play the ball over the home defence for Oliver to race away and place the ball out of the keeper's reach and into the net.

It was 3-0 in the 25th minute when Barclay and Oliver combined on the right before the ball was played across goal for Martin Brogan to net.

Five minutes before the interval, McGarrigle and Barclay worked the ball well on the right and, from Barclay's cross, Fulton's strike from 12 yards hit a defender and went past Scott.

Blackies completely overpowered the home side after the interval and could have hit double figures. However, they had to settle for further goals from Oliver, Tiffoney and McCormick.

Avoca scored in the 60th minute when the Watch defence were caught out by the flight of a free kick from the right and the ball landed in the net.

In the past seasons, Watch have stumbled in these kind of games and found themselves being knocked out of cups by lower league teams. However, so far, this side are responding to all the games they have to play.

Watch: D Tait, A Culbard, J Darroch, C Gannon, L Finnigan, A Harty, D McGarrigle, M Brogan, S Fulton, J Barclay, M Oliver, J McCormick, A Forrest, R Tiffoney, K Dougan.

Watch play Busby in a league game at Station Road on Saturday, 2pm kick off. Tote numbers for Saturday were 28 and 43. There was no winner, 450 next week.
