Battling Bully Wee fall to leaders Gretna

CLYDE suffered from Gretna's European backlash by slumping to a 2-1 loss at Broadwood on Sunday.

The Bully Wee were looking to capitilise on the Black and Whites' humiliating 5-1 UEFA Cup defeat to Derry City earlier in the week by claiming a morale-boosting victory.

But Clyde's players were left regretting a string of missed chances when Colin McMenamin scored a controversial winner after Dougie Imrie had cancelled out an earlier McMenamin strike.

Coach Joe Miller was sent to the stand for arguing with the assistant referee over why he didn't flag for a foul following a James Grady challenge.

Gretna scored from a resultant corner with Clyde down to ten men while Harris waited to get back onto the pitch.

The defeat was the second in a week for the Broadwood side after they were beaten 4-2 in the CIS League Cup by Queen of the South.

They will now be aiming to get their first league win of the season against Dundee at Dens Park on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 3pm.
