TABLE tennis ace Scott Barton will be going for gold if he’s chosen to compete in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The 17-year-old is hoping to fulfil his dream of participating in the Games and will shortly find out if he’s been selected for the squad.

Scott recently reclaimed the Scottish under-18 Table Tennis Championship, which he previously won two years ago.

He said: “For years it’s been my goal to play in the Commonwealth Games. To get the chance to play in Glasgow would be amazing.”

Scott also became the Scottish Schools under-18 champion earlier this year and is currently the British Schools under-18 champion at both singles and doubles.

And next month he will be heading to Delhi after being selected for the Scottish team to compete in the Table Tennis Commonwealth Games.
