NEW blood could be welcomed to Adamslie Park as Rob Roy begin the countdown to the 2011/12 season.

The Rabs players held an intense double-session on Saturday under the watchful eye of the new gaffer as their pre-season really kicks into gear.

Lindsay, who is the Academy Director at first divison Raith Rovers, is currently away in Malta with the Kirkcaldy club’s under-17 squad till next Tuesday.

But he told Herald Sport: “I’m being very, very cagey with the budget – I’m treating it like my own money.

“But when I’m back, I’ll know what the script is playing wise. I’ve got a few who are ready to sign and clubs we are talking to about others.

“It all should be a lot clearer next week.”

Rob Roy will play friendly matches against Kelty Hearts away on Saturday, July 23 (kick-off 2pm) and Drumchapel United at Adamslie Park on Monday, July 25 (kick-off 6.45pm).

Lindsay added: “We’re gearing up to those games. They’ll be about making sure everyone gets playing time.”

Meanwhile, Rob Roy’s early season fixtures have been announced by the Scottish Junior Football Association.

Rabs will kick off this season under new gaffer Jimmy Lindsay with a match at Adamslie Park against Cumbernauld United in the League Cup on July 30.
