Rob Roy squeezed through to the semi-finals of the West of Scotland Cup last week - meaning manager Jimmy Lindsay could still finish his time at the club by lifting a trophy.

The gaffer recently announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season to take up a coaching position in Malta, with club chiefs announcing he’ll be replaced by former player Stewart Maxwell.

But a 1-0 win over Renfrew in the quarter-finals of the West of Scotland Cup last Wednesday meant that Lindsay has at least one more game in the hotseat.

He said: “I’ve had a fantastic time at the club and my biggest disappointment is that we didn’t get to finish the project. At the end of the day though, you have to look after your family.

Rabs will now play Perthshire for a spot in the final.

He said: “Obviously we have to give them respect but it’s certainly winnable and at the end of the day if we play the way we can we should go through.”

Rob Roy play Perthshire at Adamslie Park on Saturday. Kick-off is 2pm.
