CAMPSIE entertained Cumbernauld Rovers at Kilsyth Astro grass and delivered a much-improved performance.

Campsie FC 1998s........... 11

Cumbernauld Rovers......... 0

The shape of the team throughout the match was excellent, with the midfield totally in control through Ewan Miller and man-of-the-match Ross Bothwell.

Campsie started well and passed the ball extremely confidently, and it was no surprise when Young opened the scoring after 10 minutes.

It was Young again who netted shortly after to make it two and this took the spirit out of Rovers. The game was ended as a contest and eventually Campsie ran out 11-0 winners.

Goals came from Rigley (4), M. McDermott (2), A. McDermott (2) and Ross Bothwell – which rounded of a simply masterful display from Bothwell.

This is the level of football the coaching staff expect from the players.

Campsie are pictured (right) with their new strip and sweatshirts. The committee would like to thank East West Storage for the continued support of a local team.

The Campsie 1998s are a newly-formed team and Raymond Murray of East West has been extremely generous in his support for the season.

Team: Christie, Murphy, Craig, Griffin, Hasswell, Miller, Bothwell, M McDermott, Young, A. McDermott, Thompson, Cassidy, Rigley, Quigg.
