10-Man Rabs fall to five-alive Nock

Cumnock 5

Rob Roy 2

West of Scotland Premier League

A ROB Roy team forced to play a full hour with 10 men succumbed to a five goal blitz in the final 23 minutes as desperate Cumnock gathered the three points they so badly needed to remain in the Premier League.

Rabs got off to a perfect start in the fourth minute when Paul Craig headed home a perfectly weighted cross from Scott Upton.

But the Kirkintilloch team were reduced to 10 men on the half hour mark when Matty Sheridan was sent-off.

However, Chris Zok headed them into a two goal interval lead before Cumnock’s frantic second-half onslaught fired them to victory.

See this week’s Herald for full details.

Meanwhile, Rob Roy’s final game of the 2010/11 season will take place next week at Adamslie Park.

The league fixture against Auchinleck Talbot, still to be confirmed, will be played either next midweek or Saturday, June 11.
