Manager Stewart Maxwell saw his Rabs team lose in the league for the first time this season on Saturday.
The scrappy loss to Clydebank came after Rob Roy made a positive start to their campaign – with two wins out of two for the new gaffer.
But Maxwell remained upbeat about his team’s performance, telling the Herald: “We had a lot of the ball, but just weren’t able to create much.
“We started brightly and were passing well on a tough surface, but then we lost a bit of a soft goal.
“We weren’t that great in the final third which was disappointing as we’ve been doing really well in that area – scoring a lot of goals.
“I certainly can’t fault the players’ efforts on the day and it was great to see the fans turnout in force.
“I really want to emphasise how important it is to the club that they keep on coming to cheer us on.”
This weekend sees defending league champions Auchinleck Talbot visit Adamslie Park for a game that Maxwell has described at a “benchmark” for his relatively inexperienced squad.
He said: “We’re looking forward to playing the champions and hopefully we can play well and get something out of the game.”
Rabs play Auchinleck at Adamslie Park on Saturday. Kick-off is at 2pm.
