A WIN, a loss and a draw – that was the fate of the three local junior teams at the weekend.

Kirkintilloch Rob Roy had to settle for a draw with Ashfield, who made it 1-1 with just 10 minutes to go.

Petershill, however, made a triumphant comeback at the weekend to secure three points and maintain their hopes of winning the Super League Premier title.

Peasy secured a comfortable 2-0 lead with goals from Richie Burke and Paul McLaughlin going into the second half against Arthulie at Dunterlie Park on Saturday.

However, a quick-fire burst of three goals in the opening minutes of the second half left a shocked Peasy trailing 3-2.

Peasy perserved and it paid off with David Dickson and Jordan Murch sealing the victory, 4-3.

Meanwhile Bishopbriggs side Rossvale lost 1-0 away to Carluke Rovers on Saturday, but gaffer Ian Gray praised his team’s performance.

He said: “Saturday was our best performance of the season by a distance and the result was a travesty. We lost a soft goal in three minutes and after that we were by far the better side, especially in the second half.”
