Kirkintilloch team ready to put on a spectacle for the fans this season...
Rob Roy v Rossvale
ROB Roy have really got the vision for success this season thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Specsavers.
Rabs have penned a year-long deal with the opticians in Cowgate.
Charles O’Brien, general secretary of Rob Roy, said: “We’re delighted to partner with such a well-established local business and look forward to working together to help take the team further than ever before.”
Neil Drain, director of Specsavers Kirkintilloch, said: “We are thrilled. As a local business it’s important to us that we help support the local people in our community and what better way to do that than to pledge our commitment to our local team?
“The Rabs are a Kirkintilloch institution and at Specsavers we’re getting behind them. Let’s hope they can go all the way this season.”
Rob Roy beat Bishopbriggs side Rossvale 4-1 on Saturday in the Euroscot Engineering Central Sectional League Cup.
Vale – who have been industriously building for the new season – put up a brave fight, but the Rabs quality shone through.
It completed a run of mixed results for Rob Roy.
The Kirkintilloch side were beaten 3-2 by Cumbernauld United last Monday in the Sectional League Cup.
But on Wednesday, in the cup, they won 5-1 away to Dunipace.
Rob Roy were due to play Kilsyth Rangers at Adamslie on Monday night, also in the cup.
It’s league business this Saturday as Rabs take on local rivals Petershill at Petershill Park – 2pm kick-off.
