A WIN and a narrow loss for Kirkintilloch team...

Harestanes............ 2

St Pat’s.............. 1

HARESTANES got off to a lively start in this league encounter. In the ninth minute McDonald had the chance to bag the opener when through on the keeper, but shot straight at him. In the 21st minute McCambley produced a great run down the right and crossed for McDonald, but a defender got a touch just as he was about to pull the trigger. McCambley himself had an opportunity when he broke into the box, but did not put enough on the shot to beat the keeper. On the stroke of half-time St Pat’s took the lead. Cawley saved a header, but the ball broke loose and was netted.

Harestanes equalised early in the second half after McRae played a good ball into Hay. The keeper palmed out the first shot, but could do little as Hay netted the loose ball. In the 60th minute Harestanes took the lead. Marshall played a great ball on for McRae, he passed in for McDonald to squeeze by the keeper.

HARESTANES will be kicking themselves for letting this one slip away. Two goals up at half-time, they lost to three second-half goals.

Hares took the lead in the sixth minute. A corner was pumped in, everyone missed it, it fell to Marshall at the back post and he slid it in. Six minutes later and Harestanes were two-up. After a poor pass-back McDonald reacted quickly to slide the ball under the keeper. Having dominated the first half, Harestanes conceded three goals in the second. Harestanes Tote: no winners – £150 rollover. Next game – tonight (Wednesday) – at Merkland – vs Brightons.
