Rob Roy will travel to Kilbirnie Ladeside this Saturday knowing a win would almost certainly safeguard their league survival.

Rabs currently sit sixth in the table but, with several teams below them having up to seven games in hand, they theoretically could still face the drop.

Three points against Kilbirnie at the weekend should put any final fears to rest.

The Kirkintilloch team haven’t had a competitive game in two weeks, but got some pitch time last Wednesday courtesy of a 8-1 win over Rossvale.

Gaffer Stewart Maxwell said: “It’s a tough game against a good side but I don’t think we could be better prepared and are nearly back at full strength.

“Willie Sawyers is suspended for two games so we’ll certainly miss his goals, but if we can just defend a wee bit better than we have done earlier in the season I know we can score.

“Hopefully we’ll get the win and other results will go in our favour. I’ll be on the phone straight after the game to see how the other matches have gone.”

Rob Roy take on Kilbirnie Ladeside this Saturday at 2pm at Valefield Park.
