Rob Roy fired a magnificent seven goals for the second successive Saturday to stroll into the third round of the Scottish Junior Cup.
The 7-1 away victory to Lochee Harp ensured there would be no upset for the Kirkintilloch team against lower league opposition.
It followed a 7-0 win in the West of Scotland Cup.
Gaffer Stewart Maxwell said: “It was a very similar game to the week before. We expect to beat lower league opposition with goals to spare, but these games always have the potential to be banana skins.”
The manager was full of praise for his team and for the large travelling support.
He added: “We’re now near enough at full strength and the players know what to expect from each other and what we expect from them as a team.”
Rabs are back to league business against Cumnock on Saturday and Stewart hopes they can continue their run.
He said: “We’ve been a wee bit up and down, but on the back of two high-scoring wins hopefully we can get a bit of consistency.
“Cumnock is a tough place to go and they are no mugs, having lost only two out of 18 games this season.”
Rabs take on Cumnock on Saturday at Townhead Park. Kick-off is at 2pm.
